Arriving in Playa de San Agustín
Sala Scala is at Las Retamas 3, on Gran Canaria's southern resort coast, close to Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. There's no private car park at the venue, so most visitors come by taxi, or on the venue's Thursday transfer from the southern resorts. Doors open an hour before the 8:00pm start, and the venue asks you to be there by 7:30pm.
Finding your zone
Tickets are sold by seating zone — General, Premium or VIP — rather than by individual seat, and most tables seat six to eight guests, who may be sharing with another party if you haven't booked enough seats to fill a table yourselves. The zone you've booked decides roughly how close you sit to the stage, not which specific table you're given.
The first course, and the first act
The tasting menu opens with a European course — a handmade Italian tortello — timed to the show's opening act. Whichever of the four dinner menus you've ordered, the format is the same: each course is built to land at a specific point in the performance rather than served all at once.
Through Africa and into America
The main course carries the menu into its African stretch — a spiced chicken skewer with couscous — while the production leans into African-rooted percussion and choreography. Dessert, mango and white chocolate, closes the menu as the show moves into its Latin American register, before the production's own account of Gran Canaria's Atlantic and Mediterranean thread pulls the three together.
The technical side of the room
Sala Scala stages Nomad with what the venue describes as the largest LED screen used in a dinner show, alongside its live orchestra, dancers and acrobats — over thirty international performers across the four acts. None of that is essential to enjoying the evening, but it explains why the production reads as considerably larger than a typical restaurant floor show.
After the last course
The cast takes its final bow about three hours after the 8:00pm start. If you came on the Thursday transfer, check your return pickup time when you book; otherwise, line up a taxi for the end of the night.
